2008 Abbotsford Airshow

Most of you won't know this about me but here's a little known secret...I'm a HUGE NERD when it comes to military aviation. Yes I love my car and my bike but there's nothing for me that compares to military aircraft. I'd probably give my car away for a ride in a fighter....and I've been in one once already (when I was 17).

So here's some of the pics that turned out 'alright'. I used a point and shoot SD1000 so go easy on me. Wasn't easy getting the in flight stuff at all :(

I think i got a hardon everytime the fighters flew past, especially when they sneak up on yah.... haha

me too!! my grandfather was a Lancaster pilot in WWII. He was awarded the DFC twice. That man was always my hero

I've sent an email to the organizers asking about the tickets for next year. I remember in Ottawa you could buy the 'gold' package and it would get you access to the tarmac on Friday (the show was saturday/sunday). This would get you the bext photo ops as there weren't any crowds and each plane that arrived that day would do a few fly-by's for you and park in front of the ticket holders for a few before staging.

Hoping that Abbotsford can encorporate something like that into their upper end seating packages.

the pilot had some family issues he had to tend to...so the snowbirds flew a man short

and yet did you notice how they managed to keep the spot completely clear and not have the other planes fall out of place? It was as though he were there and just not visible...really nice job I thought.
